Go ramblers!
Nursing,来自 Chicago
Great location, great people, great atmosphere and academics (depending on your program)! The tuition could be lower though.

Great Choice
Mark, Class of 2019,来自 IL
I've enjoyed most of my courses and professors. It's nice having smaller class sizes, it's easier to interact with professors when needed. The business school is brand new and in the gold coast, the student center/gym is also all new. The school is constantly making upgrades, I'm happy that I decided to go here instead of Depaul. The greek life here is pretty weak, but it's expected for a small private school. Living in Chicago makes up for it completely, there's absolutely no need for a strong greek life.

Feels like high school
2020,来自 Chicago
Classes are okay, dining is horrible, dorms are disgusting. Loyola puts all its money into athletics and none to the other students. Greek life is cliquey. The people have a certain type of attitude that they are better than everyone else. Everything feels like a competition. Transferring

Looking for an urban, social-justice school? Loyola it is.
G. Sheffield, Class of 2016,来自 Chicago, IL
Loyola is on the far northside of Chicago. While it is not as close to downtown as DePaul, the distance from downtown also preserves the "college-town" environment (though it's more of a college neighborhood). By contrast, DePaul seems lost in its neighborhood. Comparisons aside, Loyola has strong academic programs and a vibrant student body. The business programs is incredibly strong, and the liberal arts programs are jesuit-grounded but critical and fair. The academic and career advising offices are incredibly accessible and helpful. Loyola is particularly good at hiring faculty and administration committed to their mission and committed to the school. The student body is energetic and committed to justice. The campus leans left, and fully embraces that identity, but also is not afraid to be critical of itself. If you're looking for an urban school that is committed to social justice and that provides good job prospects for its alumni, you cannot go wrong with Loyola.

Loyola University Should Be Ranked Higher
AP, Class of 2018,来自 Chicago, IL
Loyola University employs a great faculty that come from the top schools in the country. Many of them also have real world experience at some of the top companies. Loyola's undergraduate science and business oriented classes are great, as well as its mathematics courses. It is the best university you can go to if you want to live and study in the heart of Chicago. Many of the students come from wealthy, connected backgrounds and it is a great opportunity to network. The student to professor ratio is quite small as well. Overall, Loyola University should be ranked even higher than 89. I would say it should be in the top 50. It already boasts some interesting alumni including entertainment: Bob Newhart, Jennifer Morrison, Ian Brennan, politics: Lisa Madigan, Mike Quigley, Mike Madigan, Dan Hynes, and business: John Rooney (CEO of US Cellular), Brenda Barnes (CEO of Pepsi), Thomas Schoewe (CFO of Walmart), Todd Ricketts (Cubs owner), Michael Quinlan (CEO of McDonald's), Jennifer Pritzker, John York (owner of San Francisco 49ers), William Scholl (Dr. Scholl's), and Lori Greiner (Sharktank). All around, this is one of the most underrated universities in the country.

Not worth the tuition
rambler x,来自 chicago
It's a nice school like many other schools, but with the rising cost of tuition, i wouldn't consider this school unless you obtained a good scholarship. If you lose your scholarship while your here, just transfer to a different school and save yourself tens of thousands. If tuition was lower (which it was when I went there, but I still considered it high) I would give this 4 or 5 stars. The city/metro area definitely makes the school. I think that's the main attraction. Many clubs to join and activities to do. Student body in general is smart. Many are premeds and business students. A lot of students are well off, but body is still fairly diverse. Classes were tough at times and teachers were ok for the most part. Students should research teachers and make sure to choose ones that grade fairly. School dining is nice. A couple halls open late (11pm-1am). Good selection relative to other schools I've been to. Plus youre in chicago anyways (many options) Housing gets better in upperclass dorms. Fordham Belarmine santa clara denobli georgetown are probably the best ones. I felt safe on campus, but again it's chicago, so you have to be careful. Don't walk alone at night if possible, make sure your phone is charged...try not to be careless. Overall, solid school. I graduated not too long ago, and I don't think any major changes have been made to the school (except tuition). I've been to other schools, so I basically compared loyola to them. I really don't believe students will experience something way better at loyola compared to a lot of other schools, that's why I say loyola is overpriced. Loyola is known for having many premeds, but many change while at Loyola anyways. In fact, it's generally easier to maintain a better GPA at other schools than loyola (which is most important to med schools). Even other schools have mcat prep for their premeds. So, why did I go to this school? Good question
