Hofstra University offers students the opportunity to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees, advanced certificates, and professional diplomas. Graduate study at Hofstra University encourages scholarship, research, and professional training in order to develop students as experts and leaders in their chosen fields. Students work closely with faculty members to create learning environments and experiences that connect academic scholarship with professional goals. Classes are taught by internationally recognized scholars, published authors, and industry leaders, including Emmy Award winners and Fulbright scholars.
Hofstra University offers eight master's degrees in over 100 programs of study: Master of Arts (MA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Science (MS), and Master of Science in Education (MSEd). An Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is also available.
Three doctoral degrees are available in seven areas of study: Doctor of Education (EdD), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
Advanced Certificates (Adv. Certs.) are offered in a variety of areas, including business, education, counseling, speech-language pathology, and public health. Two professional diplomas (PDs) are available, as well as a postdoctoral respecialization in clinical and/or school psychology.
Hofstra also offers 40+ dual undergraduate/ graduate degrees as well as three dual graduate degrees, including JD/MPH, JD/MBA, and MA/MBA.
The Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University is among only 10 percent of business schools to earn accreditation in both business and accounting from AACSB International.
Nearly half of Zarb graduate classes have fewer than 20 students, which means that our highly regarded faculty get to know you and you get to know them. Many graduate programs offer the option of entering as part of a cohort, ensuring that you'll build strong ties with fellow students. Hofstra’s proximity to Manhattan allows the Zarb school to maintain a Career Services Center dedicated to helping its graduate students find the perfect job. With 21 business-specific professional groups to join, you will have ample opportunities to meet industry executives and expand your knowledge base and our alumni network, with active groups in such prestigious organizations as Bank of New York Mellon and JP Morgan Chase, offers excellent networking opportunities.
Graduate business degree options include traditional, on-site programs; accelerated, flexible, and MBA programs, as well as a Manhattan MBA and Executive MBA along with a variety of MS programs.
Hofstra also offers over 165 distinguished graduate programs in areas such as communications, computer science, education, health professions and human services, the arts and sciences, nursing and physician assistant studies, and more.
Hofstra has a deep commitment to diversity, currently enrolling graduate students from 32 U.S. states and 31 countries. The Office of International Student Affairs works to foster academic and personal success for our international students, and offers a full range of services, from immigration counseling to help with travel requirements, visa renewals, and program extensions. International Student Affairs also sponsors more than a dozen international and multicultural clubs, and a wide range of events and programs that promote dialogue and celebrate the diversity on our campus.
As students settle into their new home away from home, they can take advantage of the many amenities on campus, including a state-of-the-art fitness center; an Olympic-size swimming pool; 18 eateries; a 24/7 convenience store; a library that contains over 1 million print volumes and provides 24/7 online access to more than 100,000 full-text journals and 175,000 electronic books; and six theaters. Or, students can stroll through our 244-acre campus, which is a nationally recognized arboretum and bird sanctuary, and features an observatory, an outdoor sculpture collection, and two art galleries. And Long Island is home to white sand beaches, parks, shopping, dining, and many cultural activities.
Tuition/Financial Aid
At Hofstra University, financial aid opportunities are available in the form of grants, loans, scholarships, fellowships, and on-campus employment. Graduate students also have several types of job opportunities available, including positions as graduate assistants, resident directors, and tutors. Graduate assistantships are part-time positions in on-campus administrative offices or student services areas. Students in these positions may receive tuition remission and stipends or hourly wages; eligible students may also receive work-study credit.
