UNIVERSITY OF REGINA The University of Regina is nationally and internationally recognized for academic and research excellence. Home to 10 faculties and 25 academic departments with programs leading to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, the University of Regina is quickly becoming the university-of-choice for students across Canada and beyond. This is due in part to our unique perks. When you choose to study at the University of Regina, you’re getting more than an excellent education, you’re also partnering with an institution that truly cares about your success. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATIONOur campus is situated in the stunning natural landscape of Wascana Centre, one of the largest urban parks in North America. Walking paths, picturesque views, picnic tables, greenery, and birds are abundant. Our students can walk, run, paddleboard, picnic, snow shoe, and bike around Wascana whenever they want! It truly is the jewel of the city. Our students can also apply to live in the heart of it – our modern residences facilitate on campus living. Reports show that students in residences are happier with their overall university experience, earn higher GPAs, and are more likely to finish their degree! UNIQUE PROGRAMSOur Faculty of Arts is one of only a handful of Canadian faculties to offer an undergraduate program in philosophy, politics and economics – an internationally-acclaimed designation offered by major universities including Oxford and Yale. Our Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science offers a number of programs aimed at preparing students for careers in petroleum engineering, software systems engineering, environmental systems engineering and electronic and industrial systems engineering. Our health-care related programs such as our nursing or social work degrees, prepare students through practical education – providing a balance of scholarship and real-world experience. And, our innovative interdisciplinary degree programs, such as the Creative Technologies program in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance, bring together artists, scientists, and cultural theorists who offer array of courses in engineering, computer science, and fine arts, making for a one-of-a-kind university experience. SMALLER CLASSES, BIGGER OPPORTUNITIESAt the University of Regina, professors and classmates know your name. You’ll learn in smaller group settings that allow for discussion, interaction, and relationship development. You’ll have greater access to your professors and active researchers on campus who are pushing boundaries and making discoveries that will change the course of history. These include such faculty members as Dr. Mohan Babu who is working with researchers from the University of Toronto, the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto and Harvard Medical School to find new pathways to fight Escherichia coli (E.coli) bacteria, or Dr. David Sauchyn who, with partners, is facilitating a multi-million dollar research project looking at ways of adapting to a changing climate and extreme weather events. Professors can eventually connect you with great career opportunities in your field or write glowing letters of recommendation for graduate school because they have the chance to get to know you! INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCESFrom the ancient temples and futuristic cityscapes of Asia, to the bustling cities and romantic scenery of Europe, to the sophistication of Washington, to the natural wonders of South America, University of Regina students have a life changing opportunity to gain academic credits and travel the world. Having an international experience adds greater value to your degree and gives you a competitive edge. EARN WHILE YOU LEARNWe pioneered the Co-operative Education Work Experience Program in Western Canada and have been committed to it ever since. The Program enables you to gain valuable experience-based learning while pursuing almost any undergraduate degree. Co-op Programs are available in nearly 50 areas of study and help our students earn approximately $10 million a year! A SUCCESS GUARANTEEWe’re so confident in the quality of our education that we created the UR Guarantee – the only program of its kind in Canada. If you’re a newly admitted or transfer student with 30 credit hours or less of post-secondary classes and you do not secure career-related employment within six months of graduation, you will be eligible to come back for another year of undergraduate classes free of charge!
