Factors and Procedures Used in Admissions

Full-time MBA program

The UCO MBA examines a variety of factors when deciding admission. The overall criteria in our catalog shows a minimum GPA requirement of 2.75. This GPA can be calculated from their total institutional GPA or from their last 60 hours completed. The program accepts either the GRE or GMAT with a required minimum score of 300 on the GRE and required minimum score of 450 on the GMAT. There are GMAT/GRE score waivers available to those with 5-10+ years of business industry experience and also to those who have a previous advanced degree (master or above). Conditional admission can be granted to those who are slightly below the GPA or test score requirement, with the caveat that the conditionally admitted student must maintain a minimum of a 3.00 GPA in their first semester. Along with transcripts, applicants are required to submit a current resume and a 500-word statement. These documents are mainly used in the team and cohort building process to ensure professional diversity and identification of cohort leadership. A prior business degree is not required for admission to the program. Any bachelor degree is eligible for admission as long as other criteria is met. The university offers free-of-charge, online leveling courses to students who do not possess a business degree. These courses are meant to be preparatory and are not a factor in determining program eligibility.
