Factors and Procedures Used in Admissions

Full-time MBA program

Applicants to the full-time MBA program are evaluated on their academic and professional achievements and potential for success in our MBA program and community. We conduct a holistic review that considers all undergraduate and post-baccalaureate academic records, GMAT or GRE scores, TOEFL scores for international applicants, the quality of full-time work experience, essays, and a professional recommendation letter. A subset of applicants are invited to interview. Personal interviews are required for admission. Applicants also have the option to participate in a group/team exercise as part of the evaluation process. The group/team exercise is used to evaluate interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.

Executive MBA program

Our Executive MBA Program targets candidates with 10+ years of work experience and 5+ years in a managerial role. We evaluate candidates based on progressive work experience, level of responsibility, academic ability, and fit with the program. Although we do not require a GMAT/GRE score for admission, those whose quantitative and analytical skills are in question may be required to take an assessment as a condition of their admission.

Part-time MBA program

Candidates are evaluated on managerial and leadership potential as reflected in each applicant's record of professional accomplishments, achievements, and leadership. Candidates are required to submit a personal essay, letter of recommendation, and GMAT or GRE test score. An interview is an essential component of the evaluation process and is conducted by invitation only.

During the first year of the full-time MBA program, students take a number of core courses in business and management fundamentals including accounting, statistics, microeconomics, strategy, finance, marketing, managerial accounting, management and organizations, operations, and a Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP), in which students work full-time on a consulting-like project full-time for seven weeks from companies around the globe. The core course of “Competing in the Global Business Environment” can be completed in year one or year two. During the second year, students can take electives at Ross and across the University to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Executive program

The curriculum focuses on strategy and leadership development for driving personal and organizational growth. The curriculum features 14 electives, including Entrepreneurship, Brand Management, Global Finance, and Managerial Data Analytics. Our customized Leadership Development Program includes individual and team executive coaching, coursework, and workshops. Students complete a company-sponsored project and their experience concludes with global strategy courses.

Part-time program

Designed for working professionals, the program provides a rigorous grounding in general management fundamentals. Weekend MBA students spend their first year in core business courses, culminating in the Multidisciplinary Action Projects course. In the second year, students select from a set of integrated elective courses, ending with courses on executive management and leadership.
