上海西华国际学校成立于2006年，由方索博士进行开办和领导。方索博士在哥伦比亚大学取得博士学位并在瑞士Leysin美国学校担任校长。整个学校采取PYP教育模式，力求学生的成长和成功都能够达到国际化教育水准，学校的教师具备丰富教学经验和学生管理理念，能够倾向性地引导学生向着国际化的教学标准进行发展。一批世界较好的教学顾问团专家组成了西华国际学校的专家顾问团，如Jerome Murphy博士——哈佛大学教育学院教授及John Yip博士——新加坡前教育部长等。

配套设施完善     先进的配套设施是西华国际学校的另一个特点，整个学校占地面积80000平方米，规划和建设由世界知名的德国魏玛建筑设计事务所负责。每间教室内都配置了先进的教学辅助器材，连同娱乐健身设施如运动场、游泳池、足球场、多功能教室及音乐教室等。学校的总投资高达3000万美元，二期建设将使学校的教学设施覆盖到13年。
