I graduated from the first Engineering Class of NIU back in 1985 (UN-acceddited at the time) and I took classes all over Sycamore, Malta, DeKalb, and Palatine to get my degree. I've now been an engineer/manager/leader in my industry for years and it is high time this University gets the respect it needs. I learned more than just reading a book. I learned people skills, how to influence people, and steer the direction of a group. I'm an ME for a major company and have 10+ patents under my belt. The skills, desire, and continual intrigue NIU fostered has led me to the person I am today. I always ask "Why?" Maybe that is in my personality, but it is never a bad thing in an ever changing world. Go Huskies!
