: Babson’s Summer Study for High School Students provides a living/learning laboratory
for students to focus on applying and advancing their knowledge in business and entrepreneurship. In this
collaborative community, students will gain the tools and experience first-hand how to impact and reshape
organizations, industries, and the world.
Babson Entrepreneurial Development Experience is a residential, academic credit bearing experience for the
current or aspiring entrepreneur who wants to create innovative, real-world solutions to economic, social,
and environmental issues through the lens of Entrepreneurial Thought and Action. Students will work together
on new venture ideas to discover how to develop and grow new ventures through lessons of market research,
feasibility analysis, and other business concepts while identifying the ways in which their businesses
fit into the greater world picture.

Babson Summer Study
Program: Boston College Summer Experience for Rising High School Seniors: Boston, Massachusetts
Description: Rising high school seniors spend six weeks living on the Boston College campus
and taking courses for credit alongside undergraduate students. Choose from our broad summer course offerings,
or apply to one of our specialty programs in math or writing. During your Boston College Experience you
will tour area colleges, explore the city of Boston on weekend day trips, participate in service learning
projects and reflect on your path to college and your career goals. You will also hear from BC students
and staff about getting into college, transitioning to college life and how to succeed in college.

Boston College Summer Experience
Program: Boston Leadership Institute Summer STEM Pre-College Programs for High School Students: Boston,
Description: The Boston Leadership Institute offers award-winning STEM programs that give students
the opportunity to engage in hands-on research. Programs are led by outstanding teachers from top schools
who have received formal recognition for teaching and professional excellence who have experience teaching
Teens wanting one-week science or math opportunities may choose Forensics, Anatomy, Sports Statistics, Contagion,
Chemistry Edge, Intro to Surgery, Physics Edge, or Marine Biology. Students take fun, behind-the-scenes
field trips. These adventures are combined with stimulating classroom enrichment and challenging laboratory

develop high-level research skills and subject matter expertise that strengthen credentials valuable for
college admissions, interviews, and essays. Programs provide students with an opportunity to gain job-related
experience and to explore career choices and possible undergraduate majors. Award-winning summer STEM research
programs for teens include: Biological Research, Applied Physics Research, Chemistry Research, Neuroscience,
Drug Discovery, Biomedical Engineering, Forensic Pathology, Mars Mission, Biomedical Research, Marine Biology,

Description: Boston University offers a summer honors program for high school students. This program

Teens create a 3D video game. Learn creative and technical skills > Join a development team > Build
a playable game > Present to a panel of experts > Tour a game design studio > Learn from guest
speakers. Teens 15 – 18 who are serious about learning game design will have fun while learning valuable
real world skills in this immersive 14 day 13 night pre-college program.
Choose your role on the development team. Will you be a 3D Animator, Level Designer, Audio Artist, or Programmer?
Learn valuable skills using industry standard software — Maya and 3ds Max from Autodesk, Adobe Photoshop®
and Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games. Design and build your own 3D video game under the direction of Lead
Designers (aka the Instructors). Present your game to a panel of industry experts, tour a game studio and
learn from game studio guest speakers. Studios providing tours and speakers have included Electronic Arts,
Blizzard Entertainment, Rock Star Games, Turbine Inc, Hi-Rez Studios.
Offered at Bentley University near Boston and Mercer University in Atlanta, Emagination Game Design attracts

Emagination Game Design Summer Program
Program: Emerson College Summer Pre-College Programs for High School Students: Boston, Massachusetts
Description: Emerson College offers 5-week pre-college academic summer programs in filmmaking,
acting, musical theatre performing, stage design, and creative writing; and 3-week programs in journalism
and political communication (PAL). At Emerson, students focus on acquiring skills by doing, meet other
students who share their passion for arts and communication, and gain an understanding of college life.
Participants: High school students entering grades 10, 11 and 12 during the 2015-2016 academic
year should apply to Filmmakers Studio, Creative Writers Workshop, Journalism Institute, or Political Communication
Institute (PAL). Students entering grades 11 or 12 should apply to Stage Design Studio, Acting Studio or

Emerson Summer Pre-College Programs
Program: epiic solutions Entrepreneurship/Business Programs for Teens: Boston, Massachusetts
Description: epiic solutions is Boston’s coolest summer program to explore entrepreneurship, innovation
and startups. Our programs treat Boston’s entrepreneurship ecosystem as our classroom as we explore how
startups develop, prototype, test and pitch their solutions to transform them into successful businesses.
Each one-week program is hosted at an innovation hub where you’ll be rubbing elbows with entrepreneurs and
startups. During morning workshops, teens work in small teams to explore customer problems, develop innovative
ideas, prototype and test solutions, and prepare a pitch. In the afternoons, we travel across the city
to visit some of Boston’s leading founders, startups and companies to get behind-the-scenes access to their
stories and solutions. Each program culminates with a Friday afternoon Pitch Competition complete with
a panel of judges and live audience.

Program: Fashion Academy – School of Fashion Design Summer Program: Boston, Massachusetts
Description: School of Fashion Design summer program for teens! Beginner and advanced levels.
Taught by SFD expert faculty in our Newbury Street, Boston studio classrooms. Explore: color & design,
figure drawing, fashion sketching, portfolio presentation, clothing construction, pattern manipulation,
fabric selection, sewing fundamentals, pressing and finishing. Choose from one of the 2-week sessions.

Program: GoGirls Entrepreneurship Summer Program for High School Young Women: Boston, Massachusetts
Description: The GoGirls Entrepreneurship Program is a summer business program for young women
in Boston. Do you like to create new things, think outside the box, find solutions to problems, do things
their own way, be in control and succeed? If so, the GoGirls program will provide the tools and environment
for you to do all these things.
During the first two weeks of the course, students will learn the basics of entrepreneurship through in-class
instruction, and discuss the unique challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship with local female business
leaders. During the next two weeks, students will create their own business plans and work collaboratively
to find solutions to problems encountered in the making of the business plan. During the last two weeks,
students will create apps to inspire and encourage entrepreneurship education and practice among others.
The program is free of cost. Each student will receive a stipend to cover food and transportation.

GoGirls Entrepreneurship Program
Program: Harvard Summer Business Academy for High School Students: Cambridge, Massachusetts
Description: The Summer Business Academy is a week-long course designed to teach high school students
the essentials of business and leadership and the pathway to entrepreneurship in the environment of a collegiate
campus. With a comprehensive curriculum concentrated in five days, SBA will give students the knowledge,
guidance and resources they need to understand the workings of business as well as create a business of
their own, building up to a business pitch competition at the end of the week.
At SBA, we seek to promote both technical and social management skills. Each day, we begin with a technical

Description: The Juniper Institute for Young Writers is an extraordinary nine-day creative writing

MIT Summer Launch Program
Program: Northeastern University Marine Science Center – Coastal Ocean Science Academy (COSA):
Description: The Coastal Ocean Science Academy (COSA) is a marine science summer day program that
aims to introduce and connect young people to local coastal habitats and the factors that shape them. The
program is based on Northeastern University’s Marine Science Center (MSC) campus on the rocky shore of
Nahant, but also includes off-site field trips to locations around Boston and the North Shore! COSA provides
students with the unique opportunity to perform hands-on experiments in the field and learn what it means
to be a marine scientist through the exploration of a variety of habitats.
This summer we are offering a one-week middle school program (July 17 to 21, 2017) and two-week high school
programs (Aug. 14 to 25, 2017). Thanks to the support of generous donors, we are pleased to offer a limited
number of full and partial scholarships to students interested in participating in the program.

Description: The United Nations Association of Greater Boston holds a Summer Institute at Harvard
University beginning in June, where we educate students on global issues. Each program is a week long and
is focused on different topics like international security, human rights, and environmental issues. These
programs involve workshops, public speaking, and conversations with local experts and diplomats. At the
end of each program, we hold a Model United Nations Conference where students come together to discuss
what they learned. It is a chance for students to work together, learn about the world, and have fun. These
events are for all levels and we encourage any student in grades 7-12 with an interest in global issues

Program: WPI Pre-Collegiate Outreach Summer Programs for K-12 Students: Worcester, Massachusetts
Description: Worcester Polytechnic Institute offers K-12 STEM (science, technology, engineering,
and math) programs to elementary, middle, and high school students. Depending on students’ interests and
summer schedule, WPI offers various academic programs during the day as well as overnight residential programs
for older students. All programs are designed to engage students in exciting STEM applications while developing
leadership and collaboration skills. These preeminent programs highlight areas such as robotics, physics,
video game design, music, engineering, humanities/arts, and women’s leadership. No matter a student’s age
or experience level, WPI’s summer academic programs have something to offer. They are offered both during
the school year and over the summer by WPI faculty and staff along with area educators. WPI also offers
an assortment of sports camps for students entering grades 2-12 during the summer and school year. Some
of the programs are registration based, while others require an application.
