Program: Academic Talent Development Program (UC Berkeley) for High School, Middle School, and Elementary Students:Berkeley, California
Description: UC Berkeley’s Academic Talent Development Program (ATDP) offers challenging summer courses for highly motivated young scholars. For over 30 years, the program has invited excellent students from the Bay Area and around the world, from all backgrounds. We offer rigorous and exciting summer courses for elementary, middle, and high school students.

We offer three programs: Secondary Division provides accelerated and enrichment courses for students completing Grades 7 through 11. It is held for six weeks on the UC Berkeley campus. Elementary Division offers stimulating and immersive classes for students completing Kindergarten through Grade 6. It is held for three weeks in Point Richmond (nine miles northwest of Berkeley). Global Programs offers international students the option of applying for courses as individuals through Elementary Division or Secondary Division.

Program: UC Berkeley Perception Science Summer Internship Program for High School Students:Berkeley, California
Description: This internship offers advanced high-school students the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge research in vision science. In this immersive experience, students will be involved in every step of the research process, and will be working alongside Whitney lab members to create and test novel research paradigms. Additionally, students will learn advanced computer coding and statistical analysis techniques that are fundamental to a successful career in all scientific fields. This is a fee-based program; full fee waivers are available for accepted low-income students. Program Dates are: July 10th- August 4th.

Program: Camp BizSmart Business and Entrepreneurship Academy: Held at Locations in California
Description:Camp BizSmart is the only summer entrepreneur academy for “Tweenpreneurs” where innovative companies with passionate and inspirational Founders/CEO’s challenge student teams to solve real world business problems, design product solutions and pitch them to angel investors at Microsoft. Our Summer Silicon Valley programs are operated at Stanford and Santa Clara Universities and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Day and Residential programs are available. Students receive coaching from industry experts and entrepreneur mentors throughout the 2 week session utilizing hands-on project learning to gain essential skills. Description:Chapman University offers a summer workshop that is available for rising junior and senior high school students. Program: embARC Summer Design Academy for High School Students at the University of California, Berkeley: Berkeley, California
Description: embARC is an intensive four-week summer design academy for high school students held at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design (CED). The program is comprised of four components: an Architecture and Urban Design Studio, in which instruction on freehand sketching, drafting, model building and digital representation will teach students how to conceptualize and communicate two and three-dimensional design ideas; a Sustainable Planning Workshop, where students will engage as genuine stakeholders and participants in a community change process by developing solutions to an authentic urban planning question; a Lecture Series, in which CED faculty and professionals in the field of environmental design will introduce students to the history and theory behind current ideas in the realms of urban design, community development and sustainable city planning; and a Design-Build project, where students will work alongside trained shop staff to build full-sized structures for the benefit of a local non-profit community partner. Students who fulfill the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion and 1 unit of college credit (graded pass/no pass) on an official UC Berkeley transcript. Residential and commuter options are available.

Description: Spend two weeks in sunny Los Angeles learning what it takes to make it in the fashion industry. Program: Jr. Discovery Summer Enrichment Program for Middle School Students – Held at UCLA
Description:Jr. Discovery is a unique 3 week summer enrichment experience for teenagers completing grades 6, 7 and 8. Program: Rosetta Institute’s Molecular Medcine Summer Camps for High School Students: Held at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, San Diego
Description: An advanced class for high achieving high school students interested in pursuing a career in medicine or related fields, such as pharmacy, nursing, biomedical research or drug development. Through engaging lectures and hands-on laboratory classes, students learn about normal molecular and cellular biology, and then learn how these normal processes are distorted to cause the development of cancer. To conclude the workshop, students use what they have learned to create an original research project on a gene of their choice. Exceptions can be made for students who are constrained by certain circumstances. International students are welcome to attend.

Program: Visual Vocab: An Innovative Photo-Based Game to Help Students Learn SAT Vocabulary Words
Description: Visualvocab.org is a photo-based game for learning the top 1,000 SAT vocab words. The game is completely free. The user has to match an SAT word with its photo “definition” as a way to learn the words visually. The game is a great supplement to other reading-based vocabulary tools.
